Challenge Students and Positive/Negative Feedback on The Math Map
Have Challenge students been using this new curriculum? If so, how many years have test students been using the new curriculum, and what have been some of the positive and negative findings from that testing?
The majority of pilot students have been in Challenge A. Some families have continued with The Math Map independently, but we will begin piloting additional levels in 24-25. Though a very small sample, students who used The Math Map as their Challenge math curriculum have graduated, earned academic scholarships, and are thriving in science program at university as well in technical careers. Negative feedback has largely focused on the challenges faced in the transition from didactic math curricula to a classical math curriculum. Positive feedback has emphasized the hospitality of the curriculum to a wide range of interests and abilities, the restfulness of having a map to math education, and a reclaiming of math education for the purpose of knowing God.
